Just finished one. The boy is over there painting the meter set now and then we’ll go over to Glendale and start working on a service install.Yeah i'm bored. lol not counting the ones in guns. i was gonna do springs but he probably got a million of those. and did admit to having an addiction to BCG's. the handsome rascal is probably doing pigtails now. @Bassbob
I tend these days to buy high class uppers that come with BCGs so I don’t have to break out my spares.I tend to build when and if I have extra carriers, not necessarily a bcg though.
I’ve got enough bolt finish parts to build many of them. But I’ll tell you this, if something fails I’m taking the entire BCG and throwing it in a baggie and sticking a whole new BCG in it. Then I’ll worry about fixing the one that failed. In a couple of cases my spares are better than the ones in the gun currently. I’m looking at you Bear Creek Arsenal. The spares who really need are just the bolts, rings, pins, extractor, than the carrier itself.
I do the same in case something goes "south" on the go, but mainly keep enough BCG parts to rebuild since it's pretty easy.I’ve got enough bolt finish parts to build many of them. And I enjoy doing it so I have plenty of bolt parts. Even a couple gas keys and grade 8 fasteners. I’d like to find a source for high quality stripped 158 carpenter bolts.I do the same in case something goes "south" on the go, but mainly keep enough BCG parts to rebuild since it's pretty easy.
Don't they though, i'm same as you.I'm almost embarrassed to be on the same forum with you
I go with either 158 or 9130.And I enjoy doing it so I have plenty of bolt parts. Even a couple gas keys and grade 8 fasteners. I’d like to find a source for high quality stripped 158 carpenter bolts.
SOLGW sells a bolt ( complete) for $94. You can buy one of their complete BCGs for around $160.I go with either 158 or 9130.
While C158 bolts are mil-spec (that's why folks focus on 158) there is zero meaningful difference between a 9310 bolt and a C158 bolt.
