I've attached a link from Wikipedia explaining how the piece of spammers are using Bots to spread spam on forums so we can get a better idea of how this is happening and how it can affect us.

I'd like to thank our hard working Mods who are cleaning this crap up and keeping our forum an enjoyable place to visit....

Thanks for posting. We are using a number of different tools anti-spam now, but obviously some bots are able to get around them. I am looking at options to restrict things further.

Just click on the avatar above a user's name, then there is an ignore button at the bottom of the popup.
