3:30 seems to work best for me, I seem to have a natural 'dimple' in my hip/pelvis there that my IWB fits into pretty comfortably. Although I've considered SOB as well...may get a lefty IWB to try that out, which would also open the possibility of a 9:00 cross-draw setup.
I do like the way they wear their holsters (I know....a *TV show*...) on NCIS-New Orleans. Small of the back, but inverted (pistol grip UP), with a slight downward cant to the barrel. But I don't know who would make a holster like that...

Either way, though...SOB carry is not anything I will consider; it’s just not a good idea.
To me it is time and movement. Appendix or hip is quicker, less movement and doesn't leave your arm in a defenseless position behind your back.Curious as to the reasoning there?
The "other" SOB orientation I've seen is standard muzzle-down - IWB, but at 6:00.
About 2:30 or 3, always IWB carry JM4 Tactical holster with spare mag on left side pocket usually.
