How To Choose The Right Shotgun Choke and Shot Size.....

Nice article . I grew up hunting with a model 31 Remington pump with a full chock BBL. Used it on everything , including slugs on deer. I never saw a reason to use any other chock back in those days . If bird hunting I used low base 8's and let them get out a little ways. We used high base 6's for Squirrel and Rabbit.
Believe it or not I could shoot 3 slugs out of that Full chock BBL. and have them touching each other at 25 yards and they went to POA. At 50 yards they opened up very slightly.

Great article. I read it yesterday in the email link CTD blog sent me. Interestingly, the chart at the bottom of the article has Trap listed as IM,F. Not being a shotgun aficionado expert, I don't know what IM is. I know the F is full and IC would be improved cylinder but is IM a typo (should be IC), or does it stand for Improved Modified (if there is such a thing). I'm interested in shooting "sporting clays" and would assume it would be chokes similar to Trap. Anybody Know?

Just get a full chock and don't worry about it. As my dad used to say " You got to put it on them boy , put it on them ! " :) ;)

Thanks, I was told either full or Improved Cylinder which I have in my Stoeger M3500 Semi-Auto. Maybe I'll try Full and see the results from that.
