How to keep flies away?

What are somethings you folks use to keep flies away?
We clean up dog poop, clean trash cans , eliminate food smells and sources and they are still a hassle.
We have used various traps but they stink and fill up quickly.
i used to use, the fly traps that fill with water.......and i'd get every fly in the state, due to the stink it creates.

i don't use anything anymore, i keep my yard clean, (i have no pets), but flies are still around.

the attraction can also be from rotting leaves, grass, maybe a dead bird...do you have rain gutters? (not all homes do), i'd make sure those are spotless as well.

do you use cow manure for your garden?

even some fertilizers contain some items that can attract flies.

do you have a cesspool?

how about a sewer drain in your backyard.

what about trees? squirrels could be leaving droppings as well.

might just wanna get a bug zapper....maybe more than one?

even those lanterns on a pole, that you light up and let burn all day/night, and refill as needed.

Plenty of squirrels, no on pretty much everything else you asked.
Only thing I can think of is we had two huge American sycamore trees taken out 3-4 years ago . Both stumps were ground up but shallow roots throughout the yard that were left behind have occasional mold spores and mushrooms that pop up where those roots are still just beneath the surface.

Shotgun. Granny Clampett style.

Shotguns. They’re not just for home invasions anymore. 🤣
That almost happened with birds that kept building nest under our patio . Luckily my wife found these on Amazon before we ended up on Cops.

well, the squirrels are leaving droppings for sure...don't forget field mice, rabbits as well..or any other type of wild/rodent life..moles, voles, chipmunks, anything that can run thru your yard.

the neighbors can be using cow, horse manure, composted garbage, anything that's an attractant.

Well how 'bout this for both sport and need! Go take a look at "BugAsault" guns. Rid your home of flies and at the same time get in a good practice!!!
