HP for Prodigy

I have been having a hard time finding a good defense/ hollow point round that will reliably feed into the Prodigy. What rounds have worked? Also what has been a no-go

I can’t say I have. I do like Federal Ammo. Have you had luck with it

Well, I don’t have a prodigy, but it runs great in everything I have. And I haven’t heard of anyone having issues with it. I believe some of the prodigy owners here are using it.

I have tried some different rounds but I keep getting failures to feed, but with FMJ no issues.

Typical 1911 issues. Have you sent it back to SA yet ? Some people have fixed their issues with heavier springs.

I've noticed on mine that alot of HP's have issues feeding. Hornady Critical Defense seems to feed 100% reliable for me since the cavity is filled in.

No, it has only been a a couple of different kinds so I am seeing what has worked for others before I send it to SA. I might go with a heavier grain, or try other kinds before I send it in

HST runs in my Prodigy as does Winchester Silvertip.

Get a skilled gunsmith to do a throat & polish job.

My Prodigy pukes on V-Crown consistently. Critical Defense works.
