Humidifier’s

I’ve honestly been an advocate for the use of humidifiers in the winter for years and this year I took it to a whole new level. For many years I’ve been using small units that work ok however I’ve found them to be a PITA to fill, keep clean and basically unsatisfactory in their ability to cover a large area.
I will say there was only one house I lived in that didn’t require one since it was heated with a steam furnace system that put moisture in the air when the radiators purged themselves.

About a month ago I picked up a new
Honeywell humidifier (tower)……

it holds close to 1.5 gallons of water which last about 18 hours depending on the settings….. the tank can be filled from the front without removing it. A big plus for me.

The humidity level can be adjusted as well as the fan speed, depending on the humidity level adjustment the unit will shut itself off and then back on when moisture levels in the apartment drops.
With the extreme cold the unit has run constantly no matter what setting I put it on.
The wicking filters last about a month before getting crusty and frankly gross.

I do want to add that the fan is powerful and is atomizing the water completely so there is no dampness around the floor where the unit is something I always found to be an issue with the smaller units.

Cost was $100.00 and I can honestly say I’ve slept better at night since I started using it.

Thats a nice one. My wife needs a humidifier especially when she sleeps. It helps with her coughing from the CHF. In our first place back 40 plus years ago, an old mobile home, we used to place a steel biwl of water by the blower motor. It made a huge difference and you could tell when that cup was empty.
