Leave out the buffalo sauce and I am all in. UmUmmm , fried Squirrel , mashed taters , gravey , and biscuits makes for a fine meal.

Fried squirrel was pretty much a staple on my Grandparent's farm. Had it many times as a kid. Good eatin'!
I always said that if the SHTF scenario ever did happen, I could go to the local parks with a bag of popcorn and a baseball bat and eat pretty good.

Same here …ate a ton of snowshoe rabbits as a kid

I grew up eating squirrel and rabbit also. My dad would take issue with discarding the head. Other than that, I agree with the article.

I dislike the taste of squirrel and rabbit. I feed them in the back yard. Just in case I ever need to kill them I want them to be handy.

Squirrel hunter here for most of my growing up years and up until my mid 40’s. Always used it for a precursor or warm-up for deer hunting. Squirrel dumplings were my favorite but hard to beat a batch of young pan fried squirrel with biscuits and gravy.

Haven’t shot a squirrel in 25 years or so, just not that mad at them any more.
