If It’s Not One Thing It’s Another

I know I’ll hear all the jokes from the Ford, Dodge and Chevy people but that’s ok, today I went to my trucks selling dealer following a recall notice I received from Ford regarding a drive shaft issue. According to the recall notice an under the truck bed metal heat shield has been found on other Super Duty trucks from my year to come loose and rub against the drive shaft, with the drive shaft being made of Aluminum some have actually been gouged into by the heat shield and eventually snapped in half. Although the shield on my truck has long since fallen off; my trucks drive shaft does have significant rub marks ( no gouges) and according to Ford stills falls into the
(needs to be replaced) category. Since no parts are currently available
“Go figure” I had to sign a waiver to be allowed to drive away with my truck until parts become available.
Honestly what’s next??

I had something similar with Discount Tire where we took my wife’s car in to get a tire checked. They took the wheel off and there was a screw in the sidewall of the tire. They then told us that they didn’t have those tires in stock but couldn’t put the wheel back on the car because they’re not allowed to - even though I live five minutes away. They then mount a “loaner” tire on the wheel and we end up with three high performance summer tires and one generic regular tire. Took them nearly a week to get the replacement tires.
