There are a couple of threads going on at HKPro about this. Interestingly the guns are marketed as MAC (Military Armaments Corporation) who are Tisas, but actually made by another Turkish company Mertsav, who subcontracts to MKE as well as sells an automatic version to the military market. It all sounds very incestuous, but bottom line: another inexpensive MP5 clone about to hit the market. .

I’ve got two MKEs - an AP5 and AP5P and they are an absolute blast. I’d love an SP5 but I don’t know what the value added would be other than bragging rights and I’ve probably paid SP5 money with mods and accessories! I ordered the MP5 style collapsing stock today.
 
It's a shame that Scheel's didn't have these when I bought my SP5 and SP5K last year. At $3K each they emptied my wallet. Well, those plus the MP5-22 and MP5SD-22 that I also bought. And then there were a bunch of extra mags @ $70ea. Anyways, I'm glad to have my HKs. But I could have lived fine with non-HK branded MP5s.

I’ve got the MP5SD 22 as well. What a lot of fun and it turns heads everywhere I take it.

I have an MKE AP5 imported by Century Arms. Mine has been a blast. It is SBR'd.

If you get one, clean and lube it before hitting the range. This seems to be the difference between smooth running and FTEs.
