Have any of you spent any time looking around on Imgur? It's clearly dominated by, eh, people unlike the vast majority of us. Was no big deal to me. I've had an account there since 2017. A convenient way to post images here and anywhere else. Until today. There was a picture that caught my eye. It was a full page ad by the editor of The Atlantic. The entire piece was dedicated to the notion that The Atlantic is dedicated to the truth and not in any way biased. So I made a comment. I'm paraphrasing.

" So not simply ignoring Biden's cognitive decline, but actively espousing that it was merely a republican smear campaign is your idea of a search for the truth ?"

This morning while checking my email I get a notice that my comment was deleted for going against community standards. Now less than 30 seconds of browsing on Imgur will reveal leftist tropes far, FAR more provocative and inappropriate than that. I go to the post in question to see many responses from people with names like Giant Flying Labia and Rainbowdaesh, calling me coward, piece of shite and a bunch of other stuff I can't mention here. Those kinds of posts apparently don't violate their community standards.

Now I can play either way. I'm okay with full, unfettered freedom of speech and I'm okay with rules that are evenly applied without regard to political ideology or opinion. It's when unabashed bias is present that it becomes a waste of my time.


Needless to say I no longer have an Imgur account ( by my own hand) so pretty much every picture I have ever posted here is now gone.

Never realised it was a site for anything but pictures
Have not used the site in prob 5+ years

That's pretty much all I ever used it for. If you look at even the top row of posts ( which appear automatically when you open the app) it's clear it's inhabited almost entirely by liberals and far leftists. It never mattered as long as it did what I wanted with the pics. I got bored though and decided to respond to the blatant soft soap job the guy from The Atlantic was laying down. And I did it totally respectfully, no cussing, no insults. I mean pretty much verbatim to what I said in the first post.

Since they only want people on there who routinely post support for CEO murderers ( Yes those posts/memes are there and do not violate their community standards) and other far left stuff, I feel no need to use their service.

And so I'm being understood, much of the stuff you see there is not something any of our resident left leaning members would support or post. When I say far left I mean FAR left.

That’s the way it is anymore, all leaning left or woke 💩. Most of these social media sites are that way, I just post pics directly off my iPhone, always works for me. Hate to say it but most of todays younger generation can’t take a dose of reality, they cry about it cause it’s not what they want or what they want to hear.

i think i had an account there for hosting my pics, when photobucket wanted to start a pay membership.

i just now copy from my pictures file, that i take with my digital camera, post them to Google Photos, and slap'em here

i cannot find anything in my 'puter, so i musta deleted the account, or maybe it was a free trial one..??

I use Imgur as a picture hosting site. And yes I do browse the daily stuff. And again yes, it is full of liberal BS. But there's also a lot of funny stuff there. So I just bypass the BS and enjoy the memes and pictures.
It is a good place to see the liberal mindset and understand just how really stupid most of them are. :rolleyes:
BTW: conservatives do get some good punches in now and then. ;)
