Increase Magazine Capacity

I'm probably being a Luddite about this
(I mean, I'm definitely a Luddite but I'm talking about this specific thing.) but I really don't like messing around with altering magazines. I just don't see the point of inducing a potential magazine malfunction to get one or two extra rounds that I'm likely never to need.

There are quite a few companies out there making these type of kits. Magguts, Hyve, Tandemkross, Shield Arms, etc all make kits for that kind of thing across different platforms and have been pretty proven.

I didn't mess with mags, i just purchased a shield Plus.
You are not alone. I feel this way. It's dog eat dog in the semiauto handgun business with mag capacity being prime real estate. S&W and other companies these +2s are made for would NOT purposely short change themselves on magazine capacity. Logic dictates to me that they went with the springs and capacity they choose for a reason.

I only use factory mags, and if the factory capacity wasn't to my satisfaction to begin with, I wouldn't have purchased that particular gun in the first place.

To each their own though. More power to those use these alterations.

Manufacturers, such as SA, add base-pad extensions to magazines to increase capacity just like the aftermarket options so unless there's some cheaply-made extension and/or extensions are not installed properly they seem to be an easy way to add capacity.

I haven't had any issues with extensions I've installed, nor from the factory extended-capacity versions like from SA.

My first post notwithstanding, I did put OEM two round base plate extensions on all my glock 26 magazines.

Magpul also makes a one-piece 12 round magazine for the Glock 26.

+1 on factory mags but not saying anything negative about those who prefer other aftermarket solutions. I have XL hands but have been able to achieve the grip I need, carrying with one spare mag for 2 of my 3 EDC's, the exception being my Shield 9 1.0 where I carry 2 8 round spares with 8+1 in the pistol in a double mag holder. My Hellcat required the purchase of several 15 round mags for grip more than capacity. My Sig P365 380 also required more grip so I purchased several 12 round mags and 2 Tactical Development Full Grip baseplates for the 10 round mags that came with the pistol as well for range use. This gives me 25 rounds on tap for the Shield and the P365, with a whopping 31 rounds for the Hellcat. As long as I do my job, I think this is enough ammo, although I hope to never find I'm out of ammo in a bad situation. Train and practice with whatever you carry to keep you proficient and safe. Just my opinion.

I am going to look into the Tactical Development Full Grip baseplates.
