Introduction - Gun Collector and More

Hello--
I'm one of Mike Humphries contributors, and it has taken me a while to make a formal introduction. I regularly write about old military machine guns and some of the pop culture topics, such as the movie misfires. When I'm not out buying new small arms for the collection, I'll be watching war movies on my 82-inch 4K TV!

I also cover the latest in military hardware for The National Interest and I cover trends in social media for Forbes.com. Mike suggested I share one of my latest pieces - a profile on a YouTube channel devoted to ancient and medieval history.

For those interested in military hats and helmets, I'm also the author of "A Gallery of Military Headdress," which is currently available on Amazon.

Cheers,
Peter Suciu

Welcome to the forum Peter,
Hope you enjoy yourself and stick around for awhile.
Found your article and content very interesting and thought provoking. On and off have studied much the same since childhood. Enjoyed your perspective and thoughts read. Agreed, much of history has been twisted, fabricated, forgotten or misunderstood for various reasons usually because of being written by the victors of whatever.

History can be very fascinating and involved. On elongated skulls for example? A simple starting point is high foreheads used to be and may still be associated with intelligence, which usually also equates with older aged peoples wisdom gained through experience and time. Those thoughts likely didn't just start yesterday? So, in order to mimic that appearance of wisdom and those leadership capabilities, skulls may have been elongated to create that illusion or came from another source for other reasons....
