Is my thinking backwards. Viridian HS1

So my Viridian hand stop/green laser came today. I mounted it up and since I can’t get it to the range immediately I just zero’d it about 1.5” lower than my red dot which is zero’d at 50 yards. The intended use for the laser is HD/CQB, etc. So from 10’ to 25 yards or there about. Not that it’s all that important since I’m going to zero it proper when I get the AR out to the range but I just wanted to get it close.

Red dot and red laser makes it hard to distinguish which is which if touching. Green would help, but nice either way!

So am I right in thinking if the red dot is zero’d at 50 and I want the laser at CQB distances I should put it lower than the red dot ?

It won't be accurate if you need to use in a emergency, don't use the site. Just point the gun at what you want to kill. 🤔😁 When you get to the range zero it in.

Yeah just trying to get it close. After mounting my red dot, when I got it to the range it was 1” low and 1” right at 50 yards. It took 3 rounds to zero it. That was without touching any adjustments prior to the range. In fact all my Romeo 5s were very close straight out of the box. The HS1 was way off, but then it really is hard to tell. I set it 1.5” lower than my red dot at 9 yards. However when I aim at something right in front of me the green laser is about 10” below my red dot. So it’s definitely going to be zero’d at the range before I attempt to use it.
