Last fall I shot some 35 Whelen shells I had loaded back in 1988. They all shot well with out any issues. Keep it stored in a cool dry place and it will be fine.
I change out my carry ammo yearly just to be sure.

Yes, it is.

I shot ammo from the 1930’s about 20 years ago, and while it had a higher than normal rate of duds, the vast majority went bang just fine.

I hadn't reloaded in over 8 years. I didn't trust myself anymore. The older guys will understand. So I sold everything to a young man I had known for a long time. I gave him a sweet deal. That realization was hard to admit. I have plenty of ammo stored away. It's Hell to git old
