Is Springfield still making the 911?

I've been looking for a 911 for a few months now and all the gun stores have said the same thing: they haven't seen one since basically Covid started. One local gun store owner said Springfield wasn't making the 911 because they were prioritizing the Hellcat. The only person I could get in touch with from Springfield gave a stock answer that didn't tell me if they were actually still manufacturing them. I've seen the Kimber micros at some shops, I just don't like them as much as the 911.

Aren’t the Hellcats made in Croatia and the 911s in the US? I guess it could be an issue with capital and return, but I wouldn’t think that there is any issue with manufacturing capacity.

But I could be wrong.

I just called customer service (the person I spoke with before was part of their social media team) and they were incredibly kind and helpful. Basically, production was pushed back on these for now because they aren't in high demand. Since they're still in backorder mode these days they don't expect the 911 to go into production again until the first quarter of next year at the earliest.

I'm sorry to hear that the 911's are not currently in production. They are great little guns with excellent sights and a familiar manual of arms. I love the increased-capacity micro 9's that are flooding the market, but there's definitely room for 1911-inspired 9mm and .380 acp pistols that can be carried cocked-and-locked in a pocket.
