Is this acceptable for a new S&W M&P Sport II?

This is my second warranty replacement firearm, and RMA #4 with S&W so far. This originated from an out-of-spec BCG from my original purchase back in July. The first replacement firearm came back with the barrel pitted. Is this acceptable for a new S&W M&P Sport II? Or should I RMA this one and play the lottery again? I have not fired it yet but it looks like the castle nut stake is poorly done.

Doesn't look like anything that would keep it from running, just cosmetic. still **** poor QC. If you're not happy with it send it back. i know it sucks to deal with crappy QC. Sig Sauer is a nightmare to deal with. they have had my virtus for two months and can't get anyone to tell me anything.

The castle staking is a poor job for sure! I've no answer on the bcg issue, but the chargehandle seems like a bad coating. I have a s&w viking tactics version that I've had very good luck with and am happy about. 9mm m&p 1.0 and 10mm 2.0 that has been good so far. Some others haven't been as fortunate with 10mm versions.

The only reservation I have is I might get one that is even worse or they will just send me back this one in an even worse condition. What sucks is the original rifle didn't have a single nick in it but the BCG was out of spec. Had I known this infinite bad QC loop was going to happen, I would have just installed a different BCG myself.

I don’t see it being any issue, but it’s sad that S&W sends out guns like this, but it’s probably normal for an entry level AR, I would take it out and see how it’s shoots, I doubt S&W will do anything since it’s cosmetic, now if it doesn’t function right, that’s a whole different story

It’s a budget build so yeah. Run it ragged and dont worry about it. Most manufacturers would market and sell as a blem rifle. A higher end rifle I would send it back in a hearbeart.
So my thing is I bought it new, not as a blem so I am a bit confused as to why I am receiving blemished rifles to replace the original new rifle that I purchased at a new price point. Not to mention I was told that I would be receiving a "new" replacement. This seems a bit disingenuous and deceiving IMO.

I agree, it sucks. They should have or at least you should request a blemished price or just send it back. They should make it right.
I bought an mp a few year ago and the dust cover was not milled exactly as it was supposed to be. This I. Turn caused the spring to not function properly. Leaving the dust cover to just flip around.
It was not an easy fix and required a new upper. Once those holes were drilled , slightly canted and off spec there was no Other fix. I documented all of this with multiple photos.
They owe d up to the mistake and sent me a completely new upper.
If you’re not going be happy with it do the same.
