Is this normal ?

Putting together a lower ( Anderson) with an Odin Works enhanced LPK. I get to the rear takedown pin/buffer tube assembly and when I tighten the endplate and castle nut down the rear takedown pin won't budge. I notice the spring is slightly bent on the end. Insert the other way, still won't budge. So I use the other spring ( front takedown ) which isn't bent. Still won't budge. I noticed that with the castle nut loosened up some that the pin moved freely. So I cut the bent end off the spring, tightened it down and the pin moves like normal.

Is it common for these springs to be too long ? The spring worked on the front pin with no modification.
 
So no one has any input on shortening takedown pin detent springs ?

Oh well, it works perfectly now. Lower is built and staked and waiting for an upper to show up at my door tomorrow.

I do know that some people have had to do a little bit of work on out of spec lower parts and even lower receivers themselves.

By the way, I am pretty happy with the Odin Works kit. The FCG is coated with something and is very smooth for a mil spec trigger. It also came with an oversized trigger guard. In case anyone is wondering the set screw for these enhanced trigger guards takes a 1.3 hex.

I've never had an issue with an out of spec spring before. Sometimes people will try and put the safety selector spring in the takedown pin holes but it will not fit because the safety selector spring is slightly fatter.

I've trimmed a frontal take down spring before.
 
I will bet the groove in the pin where the detent pin fit's into had a small imperfection causing the detent to stick-
I had this happen on the safety detent once-and also the same place your experiencing.

So does this mean now that it's functioning properly, when something wears in I'm going to be changing that spring out?
