Quick note: I have one of Springfield’s commemorative Garands, from circa 2009. Bought it at Osage Beach MO, while stationed at Ft L. Wood.
I wanted a D-Day one, but was glad to get the Iwo Jima one NIB. (I believe they had all been produced by then and most taken already).
Came with a closeable mil-style display crate, leather sling, manual, and the book Flags of Our Fathers (and the dvd movie)… Still got it - unfired !
Will try to post a pick when i get home
. They only made 1,944 of each, to commemorate the year of each battle. Can’t recall which number i got
