I was just about to ask the same thing.

I'd be grateful if someone would PM me and maybe tell me the highlights. I thought it was a pretty good and respectful discussion going on when I left for my nap around 4 PM or so, so I'm caught up to there.

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

It kept getting pulled off the rails with non 2a politics and name calling so it had to be shut down.

As a friendly reminder to all when posting threads to try and keep non 2a politics out of the discussion as not to violate the forum rules.

The topic itself was not an issue but the negative political commentary did become an issue with the back & forth arguing of politics and insults.

The forum rules are clear that non 2a politics are not allowed.

Thanks 10mm. I really appreciate it.

As I said, I'm not surprised. Have a good idea of who was involved in the name calling.

I re-read the rules before I started the thread and tried very hard to not violate any rules. Also tried very hard to be respectful in my dissents. I value my membership here and the friends I've made here and do not wish to get banned.

Ironically, earlier today I got a 30-day ban (to be followed by "indefinite" moderation) from my favorite model car site. I try very hard to follow the rules there, too, and have even made a friend of at least one of the moderators, but another apparently has it in for me and bent the board's own rules to bust me. Lotta that going around in today's world, it seems. Oh well, in the long run, it really doesn't make much difference, does it? ;)

Thanks again for the report and God bless you and all the good people here. ;)

Just as a reminder, here's what the Rules say:

"No political post or topics on the main forum. The “Armed with Knowledge” section will be the only place where this is allowed. No promotion of candidates or advocacy posts. Limit political post to firearms- and firearms rights-related topics only."

Personally, I feel like there's been a fair bit of straying from that lately. Just sayin.'

The forum is glad to have you as a member and it takes a lot to get banned here as that is the last thing the mods want to do to anyone.
