Jasper, Alberta is on fire

Jasper is a tourist town in northern Alberta, Canada. The town has been evacuated and has begun to burn. I have friends who live in that area. They are okay for now but the town proper is on fire. It is located near Jasper National Park where I took my winter survival course. So sad because it is untouched wilderness. This hit me kind of hard today.

between Canada and fires in oregon, washington and some bordering those it's a terrible year on fires! get essentials and go to a safe location in plenty of time so not to rush. stay safe!

The videos are really hard to watch, and I'm told that there's not much left of the town. This is one of the more famous lodges, Maligne Lodge, fully engulfed.
My friends are fine, they haven't lost much yet as they are on the outskirts. Time and winds will tell..
