Interesting change of things. Of course when a lot of jurisdictions are releasing folks or granting bail/own recognizance releases for serious crime you will have an increase because the ones released don’t quit!

Hi,

Exactly. "Crime" is down simply because arrest rates are down, conviction rates are down, incarceration is down, etc. They are "cooking the books" and not dealing with reality.

That's my profound glimpse into the obvious for today. ;)

What happens when the Left is caught in a lie? They repeat it ad nauseum and pile on with other debunked statements in the hope that people will believe it if said often enough.
 
The Biden administration submitted Rachel Rollins, former Boston top prosecutor to be the U.S. Attorney for the Massachusetts area in 2021. She was eventually forced to resign over ethics violations, including using sensitive DOJ info to assist a fellow Democrat in winning an election.

These are the crimes she wanted sent to diversion or flat out declined for prosecution:

shoplifting
receiving stolen property
breaking and entering with property damage
wanton and malicious destruction of property
threats
minor in possession of alcohol
marijuana possession
possession with intent to distribute
non-marijuana drug possession
trespassing
larceny
disorderly conduct
driving with a suspended license
underage drinking
resisting arrest

The last one, resisting arrest was fascinating to me as it was pre-retirement. Encouraging no enforcement of resisting arrest violations encourages that activity, which guarantees either de-policing where law enforcement takes no action to enforce violations of law -or- that every arrest will be a use-of-force.

The Mayor of Boston Ms. Wu also believes there should be a list of crimes declined for prosecution. Ms. Wu is the same mayor that held an official holiday party last year where only city administrators of non-white races were invited. Link
 
From experience as a LAPD Detective, there was always pressure to take “wobblers”, crimes that could be either a felony or misdemeanor and reduce them to misdemeanors. Look for any possible reason to reduce. Was the victim sure that garage door really locked? How about that car door? Breaking into that garage door or that car is a felony, but if unlocked, it was a misdemeanor. A definite push to keep the Part 1 crime stats down, and make the Chief happy.

This was just discussed on an instructor group FB oage and here is what was posted but notice the response. I am an hour outside Indianapolis and they are having a time right now.

It was sort of the same with the Military we had a few raps and murders and OSI came in and it was Serb Pro like it never happened! Guess they didn’t want to taint the poster boy image
