This Court continues to disappoint me. There are a lot of big issues they could have dealt with this term, such as 2A, qualified immunity, sanctuary cities and states... I won't tell you my positions on those cases) but they decline. I've been pretty upset at the Court since they decided to punk out instead of actually addressing gerrymandering and tell the states to knock that crap off and draw reasonable districts that don't guarantee reelection to incumbents. In my opinion Thomas should retire; he never stuck me as more than Scalia's reliable concurrence. I think Roberts is a good Chief Justice, in that he is trying to keep the Court as non-partisan as possible, which it absolutely should be, but I'm disappointed in their holdings and the cases they decide to take. I get the sense they are punting on some serious issues for whatever reason. I wish the Court really was the non-partisan branch of government they should be but they seem to have forgotten all that. Most decisions now are 5-4 along reliable lines. That's the nature of the beast in Congress and the Executive, unfortunately, but it never should be in the Court.
