Kid at heart… Red Ryder

I never had a BB gun growing up. I wasn’t allowed. Well, seeing that I’m a 53 year old man and responsible gun owner my wife felt it was okay to get me my first BB gun for Christmas… a Red Ryder. I had to purchase it due to silly NJ gun laws. It has “minute of Buick” accuracy but can hit soda cans at 15 yards all day long (for the most part).
Yes, I am a big kid. 😁

yeah, i never let any of my kids have one...reason being they had friends that had'em and those numbnuts would shoot birds, and squirrels...i didn't want my kids to hurt any sort of "animal", i wanted them to respect life.

then this past summer, i told you all of a squirrel issue i had, with one "boring" a hole in my eave..??

cost me some big bucks to have a wildlife exterminator come over

when my neighbor offered me his gun to get rid of them, for free.

My sister in law had a squirrel problem and it wasn’t cheap.

New Jersey is a ridiculous.

I grew up in New Jersey. My Mom would not let me get a BB gun either but my Dad had one. He would sit up in the dormer and shoot at stray dogs to keep them from crapping on the lawn. It got so that the dogs would cross the street when they got to our lot.

I hated the place and was out of there like a shot when I turned 18.

New Jersey is a ridiculous.
Indeed it is. BB guns, pellet guns, air rifles are all considered “firearms” in NJ and can only be purchased through an FFL. There is no NICS check but I have to fill out a Certificate of Eligibility just as if I was getting a long gun. Even airsoft can go either way. In addition, any air rifle that is integrally suppressed is illegal. Wacky.

"Wah, wah, I want one .... I want one too!" (Long silence then a cold, cold look from mama) "Well, Jimmy got one, why can't I have one?"

Then mama said "come on boy, there's a cliff over here I want you to jump off of.... right after you shoot your eye out!"

:(:cry::cry:

Help me out. I was 10-12 yoa when my parents got me a pump action BB gun. I can't remember the model name or manufacturer. I know it had a removable round magazine that held 50 bb's. It was very accurate, lots of fun.
