Hands on activities are the way they learn, and these are life long lessons! 
My youngest son brought to my attention last week a bird house he had built for his grandfather about 30 years ago. Its still nailed up on the same tree that they chose. While she may be building a bird house today, she also building memories that will stay with her forever.
