Neat gadget but I agree, you’re setting yourself up to have vehicle broken into. (Edit)Not that you do but I see folks plastering gun swag on their back glass. It’s just asking for trouble.
Springfield provides you with a nice padded bag that can be easily locked in most center consoles and glove boxes. When driving simply have it unzipped and easily accessible. I wedge mine near seat buckle to keep from sliding in floorboard.

In your console is a terrible place for a gun.
 
Certainly not something to leave exposed in view of the wandering unwashed.
Does it come with a butter knife in case the gun gets stuck?
