Let’s See Those Wood Stocks

After reading the article on the Springfield M1A and looking at the current lineup on the Springfield website it brought back wonderful memories of my 20 years making wood Gunstocks for Marlin Firearms and O. F. Mossberg.
My 15 years with Marlin was spent making Forearms and butt stocks for all the lever action models for 6 years then CNC Machining all there bolt action stocks until Remington bought the company. When I moved over to Mossberg they at the time were buying there limited line of bolt action gun stocks from outside vendors. My first job was to bring the current wood room in North Haven up to the 21 century. From there I moved into the position of engineering project manager to develop a program to develop and build in house bolt action guns stocks for their new upcoming models. At the same time I was tasked to updating the wood room at their Texas assembly plant. Given a substantial budget I purchased 3 CNC machining centers and working with the design engineers I worked to build CNC Programs and in my final 3 years was making 17 different models of Gunstocks for Mossberg’s growing bolt action lineup. The current Mossberg Predator rifle with a walnut stock is my crown jewel. If fact there are many stocks on the market with my signature under the butt pad. Below are pictures of some of my work.
To all let’s see those beautiful wood stocks.

Outstanding work Keystone! Nothing sets off a good rifle, or shotgun, better than a nice wood stock.

My rifles (no shotguns or .22s pictured) are not fancy but they've done some work. 1894 from near the turn of the century with a Weaver added god knows when, 1943 SA Garand, Browning A-bolt II in .30-06.
