Lever rifle for SD

I'm pretty sure @TEXASforLIFE has a really nice modern lever gun with an MLOK rail.

Maybe he can post a pic.
Like this with 50mm hi lux rd 45/70 and last!

I've always thought a lever action .357 would be the best alternative to a semi-auto like my Saint. It's great for most things a gun might be used for. And if I ever lost my Saint in a boating accident, I could probably still retain the lever gun. So antiquated. So harmless.

I've got a Marlin 1894 in .44 Mag., a full-size Henry Big Boy, and a Big Boy Carbine, both in .357 Mag. I'm confident that any of them could be effective for self defense, if necessary. Buckshot from a 12 gauge is the best fight stopper in my home, but I assume that a .44 Magnum round from a rifle-length barrel would be an adequate substitute at home-defense distances. I'd still prefer to use a shotgun, but I can work my lever-actions almost as well as a pump, and I doubt many bad guys can outlast the 10-shot capacity in the rifles (or 7 in the carbine).

I do agree with the other posters who wonder why self-defense applications have to be considered for every type of firearm. Golf Clubs can also be used for self-defense, but I highly doubt that Golf Digest gives a self-defense score to any of the clubs they review.
