Looking for Some History and Maybe a Value

Back in 1991, I was offered a Springfield Arms M1A National Match rifle at a very nice price. It proved too much gun for me but I've kept it nicely preserved with all effects including a bipod. The inscription reads USA Rifle, 7.62mm MIA, Springfield Armory Ser. 004094, which I think places it as an early production piece. I have no interest in selling it but I am getting older and would like some history to give to my kids and maybe the value. Can anyone here help? Was it produced in Texas?
Thanks and Best Wishes,
John - Bonefixr

you have at least 2 choices..

1) email Springfield with all this information, and ask them

2) you can call Springfield and ask them

i always had good luck with emailing them, others have said they have good luck with a phone call

you can also check for collectors clubs, specific to Springfield

good luck
