Does anyone store their range ammo loose in something similar?

I just keep it in the box it came in. If I were a reloader, it might be different though.

When I buy bulk, I keep ammo in the plastic starage container that all the lunch meat comes in. Those Oscar Meyer red tubs.
Works great for ammo to put in the bag going to the range. Those red tubs hold about 200 rounds. Perfect for one range session

“Free” container since you pay good money for deli meat these days

I use 100 round plastic boxes for cowboy ammo. .380, 9mm and .45 ACP travel in .30 cal. ammo cans. I take a mag loader to the range.

I just use Crown Royal bags.

They also make good pistol rugs…

50 round for center fire rifle.

The SB200 for 22 LR or CCI 100 round 22 boxes

i have many of the blue boxes, from dillion, berrys and mtm
i also have some less pricey snap lid plastic boxes to hld 308 ammo that is still boxed, i can stack 3 on thier side for 60 rds per box , just to keep the dust off and easy grab

Poor man’s solution. Good enough for my extra large nuts, good enough for my boolits.

…or Ziplock freezer bags and desiccant that comes in various things wife buys online.

Hi guys.

Wow, great ideas. I try to be frugal. I normally save a few and re-use my empty 50 round boxes. I fill up a couple from my loose ammo cans before going to the range. If/when I get into reloading the blue plastic boxes would be very handy.

I've seen those while perusing the Midway website but never gave them much thought. They're less than $1 apiece for the .45ACP boxes. Not bad. I still have a few loose .45 but my last order came in boxes so I'm set for a while. Actually, I think I'm overflowing all my ammo cans. Oops. I gotta rethink my storage solutions.

When shooting CAS I carried my ammo to the loading table in Crown Royal bags. When my friends found out I used Crown bags I ended up with a pile of them. Drinking whiskey to get purple bags in support of Cowboy shooters is highly poetc.

I like to keep my inventory stacked.
For the few cases of my bulk loose pack, if I can’t rummage some empty boxes and trays in the range trash can, I do have a few zippered nylon bags from the home improvement store brand that I use to separate my range ammo and loaded magazines from the $$ hollow points. The three different sizes are $13 now, were $8 just couple years ago.

if it wasn't for the mom/pop gun and bait store where i got my reloads, i'd have not even thought of these boxes as well.....that's what he uses for his "for sale" reloads.

it's actually easier for me that these boxes being white, stand out from new ammo, and thus, i can have reloads next to the new ammo, and know where they are, rather than to use the factory boxes

those plastic storage boxes are prohibitive in pricing, when i buy these white boxes in bulk.

I don't have any loose rounds. I keep all my ammo boxes and remark them if I put something else in them. Then they go in steel ammo cans.

9mm is factory floor to range floor within weeks

Well, for every box you shoot you are storing another in it's place so you DO store it. It's just that you only store it for a couple hours.
