A buddy of mine and I took my Loaded Standard to the rifle range yesterday. It's an outdoor range and the temperature topped out at 11 degrees. After warming the barrel, that thing put five shots in 1.25 inches at 200 yards and hit a jug of cat litter 5 of six times at 500, using Federal Gold Match ammo. Springfield does definitely make a quality product.

I would like to pickup a M1A Socom rifle at some point this year.

I'm a big fan of the carbine length rifles and the M1A Socom is just so damm sexy!

Wont let me post video, but i have a video of rapid fire on a Victor .308 50 round drum with very little muzzle climb and return to target time .. 50 rounds in softball size area

Is it online anywhere? I'd love to see that kind of performance. Of course, I can just try it myself next weekend :)

I placed an attachment for a single point sling at the bottom of the pistole grip using barrel adapters (wood screw threads on the outside with machine threads on the inside). Hangs nice and out of the way during transition drills. A tritium front sight and a Streamlight / ProTac HL-X works well for low light situations.

I recently purchased my scout squad and I too feel like this is the rifle for me. I like my AR but this m1a is the by far the most awesome rifle I have ever held and fired and certainly the best I have ever owned. If you can't tell I am super excited about this rifle and I don't see that excitmemt fading anytime soon.

I had a nice National Match M1A that I let go during one of the ban scares 10 or so years back...keep considering a Scout Squad to replace it.

One of these days...

I had been saving for quite a long time for this rifle and it was worth the wait and so far worth every dime! Then, when the time came that I had enough the "virus" set in and they became scarce. So I took a ride to my favorite gun source and I was in the process of ordering one with the walnut stock and they discovered they actually had 3 in stock and I was able to pick it up that day. Yup, it was meant to be! The maiden voyage was awesome, sighted in easy enough. They have really got that muzzle break worked out, follow up shots are fast and on target! I can't say enough good things about this rifle, I am well pleased.
