Lubriplate 1200-2

It's white lithium grease I use at work on heavy equipment. I can get all of this I want. I know I have heard of people using Lubriplate on firearms but I think it's not the white lithium stuff. I think it's the food grade stuff. Has anyone used lithium on your guns ? Specifically BCGs and slide rails.

I have found that Lucas white litium grease works better for me. I also use a bolt roller tool to grease the roller bearing on the bolt, and apply a light film of grease to the locking lugs and raceways in the receiver, and the operating guide groove in the side of the receiver.

The only time I've used the stuff was on engine rebuilds. Applied to cam, rod and main bearings and the corresponding associated part so the rotation won't bind or run dry until oil pressure builds. There's an electrical version for electrical parts also, but not sure the difference as it has been a long while since I've used any.

The Lubriplate that is specifically recommended for the M1 & M14/M1A is No. 130-A...which is a petroleum based calcium grease...definitely different than lithium grease. Sorry, no idea if lithium grease is as good or better...

i never used that on engines, but mostly on door hinges, door strikers, hood locks, gas door locks/plunger cables, automatic transmission kickdown cables, E-brake cables, and inside the doors for crank window gears, or the rollers. anywhere that rain water can easily wash away oil.
