Magtech primers

I started using Magtech LPP yesterday and found that many of them are not seating fully. I was reloading .45 ACP with mixed brass and had a crapload of them not fully seating. I pulled them and sent them back through the primer stage. I noticed that Winchester brass didn't have an issue from a very quick look. I hope this won't be an issue for other large primer brass I reload. I bought these due to price and availability. I would have purchased others if found at a reasonable price.

i've been wanting to give magtech primers a try in several different cases (rifle and pistol of both l & s). on LRH there are members who do A LOT of this stuff with this brand including white river and foreign brands. they state brand of brass used. there was a guy on brian enos forum that had an unimaginable amount of primer info.

i've done this on occasion by being slow on the de-priming stroke.
I'm not that ballsy on my Dillon.
Federal, Winchester and Remington large and small pistol primers have in the last few months been far more plentiful than the last 5 yrs.
Small pistol primers had been hit or miss during that time and $100+ a 1000.
Glad to see it, I'm going to start buying LPP and SPP going forward. The prices are falling as well, about $75 but far from the $20 a 1000 I last paid

THE 550 IS WHAT I DE-PRIMED THE LIVE PRIMERS ON. sorry about the caps as the cats can't stay off the kb.

this is probably one of the reasons why i don't wanna try any other brands than what i use now, and those are, Federal, CCI, Winchester, and Remington

i have read "too many issues" with foreign brands and a few issues with American ones as well.

the above primers i use, have been very good, and frankly, i just do not hear much bad about them.

How do you pull a primer once installed in the primer pocket? I'm leaning towards you're deactivating it with oil first.
Just to clarify. The rounds were put into the priming/powder station and gave the handle another shove. Extract, put another round in the shell plate and give another shove. I'm not advocated pushing live primers out of a case.

When small pistol primers were very scarce, I did pay a lot for them. But bought them for $65-75 when I found them. I still balk at $80-100/1K which is why I bought the Magtech. If they don't work in my Schofield or .45 Colt brass easily, it will be a painful process, but time will tell. I might buy a hand primer thing if I really need to, but would rather not if I can help it. I have about 13K of small and large so I don't need to buy at inflated prices.
