Making the Man With No Names hat

depending on the felt and how many "X"s there are you can burn them with that much heat. i've bought several western hats over the years and the places i've bought from will reshape/shape it to your likings. it's an art like many others including bluepriniting an engine or just a regular rebuild.

the start to finish viewing was cool! thanks for the vid!

I had to buy a Cavalry hat when I got assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division. I was going to buy a “Cheapie” one but my sister got me a Top of the Line Stetson. She’s a barrel racer and has contacts.
I still have it.

hats are required in rodeos from what i've been told? i never did any rodeoing other than the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, vehicle and trailers and that was just trying to get away............................you was thinking of something else ;) . you never had to dal with the cattle my grandparents had....................they were vicious on so many levels................if you have any questions go find someone who has a charolais brahama cross or a brahama limousine cross. if you see or find a tiger stripped looking cattle, then you've found them!

Yep. Places who sell Stetsons provide cleaning and reshaping services. The catch is it’s an added fee to the overall cost and it’s only honored where you bought it from.
Mine came with the services free of charge at any authorized Stetson dealer

I've never had to pay extra. Now I've went into a few places to get some reshaped from a place where I didn't buy it and cost was minimum. Maybe it ass just the area or places of business?

The only other Stetson I’ve ever owned was the Drill Sergeant Campaign hats I was issued upon successful completion of Drill Sergeant school.
We were issued two. I lucked out and was issued 1 Stetson and the other was a “ No Brand”.
There was a big difference in the quality of the two. I kept the Stetson reserved for special occasions while the other one was my daily hat.
No matter what you did to protect them from that Georgia humidity the brim would droop.
We we allow to exchange one every 6 months.
