Marlin Model 39 — Miss Oakley's Choice

Well made, heavy (just wood and metal :)) very accurate and reliable. My dad bought one in Sears of all places way back when. I have since replaced the scope with something more modern, but still have the original. It fires everything I feed it.

Got mine at a JC Pennys.

The 39A was the first gun I bought with my own money. Actually, I traded fur to my fur buyer who was also the local gun dealer for a brand new gun. I was ten and happier than any kid has a right to be.

Today there is a 39A peanut, a 39 M, and a 39D. sitting side by side in a gun safe. While I no longer use these for hunting, (too valuable) the 39D does go to the range from time to time for my wife to shoot. I love these guns and their accuracy. I'm still shooting iron sights on these.
