Micro 9 "felt recoil": Hellcat 3" versus Ronin EMP 3"?

Does anyone have any "felt recoil" experience they can relay regarding the Hellcat 3" versus Ronin EMP 3"? I have shot the Hellcat and it is very snappy (my hand can start hurting during after 2-3 mags - I therefore don't see myself enjoying training with it over time). Does the 1911 Ronin EMP platform significantly reduce the felt recoil compared to a Hellcat? Or, are all Micro 9s felt recoil the same.

The smaller or lighter the gun the more felt recoil, especially with guns in polymer. If it's a heavy metal gun less felt recoil but heavier to carry. If recoil is an issue for you, you might want to look at full size guns.

I would think the perceived recoil on a Ronin would be softer based on weight of gun. I’ve owned several micros, Sig’s 938 & 365, LCP Max, Glock 42, FN Reflex, Hellcat. They’re all snappy somewhat for me at age 63, I shoot a minimum of 200 rounds per session without any pain/fatigue issues.

I have the Ronin EMP 3. I have owned the 365X. I don’t really think recoil is a huge difference, but I shot the 1911A1 for several years, and my Ronin just feels much more comfortable, and shoots so well.

If you have issues with a G42, a 380, get a bigger gun!

my Xd sub 45 is a HANDFULL ,
that itty bitty barrel can catch you off guard if you just were shooting the 1911s, with 5 inch barrels
i also have a ronin 1911 45 4 inch barrel, (actually its 4. something)
its always made me shoot low, its much lighter than the other 1911s so i have to re zero the brain and remember to correct the slightly low, it also the one with alum and steel , vice all steel.

I went with this, makes your Hellcat about Hellcat pro length. And cheaper than another gun!

You can find my range report here.

I’m pretty happy with it (though I had a 15% off coupon from Hellcat Warranty registration)

I spent most of my life only shooting .45s and big revolvers ( .44 mag and .357 mag). And of course shotguns. So when I got into the striker thing maybe 7 years ago the first one I bought was an XD Mod 2 4" .45 ACP. And it's a damn fine gun. Shoots softer than the 1911s, but the difference is not really relevant to me. I have no issues keeping the 1911s flat and on target. Eventually I bought a Walther Q5 Match in 9mm. Then an HK, then another HK, then another HK. So I don't really have much useful input on recoil in 9mm because to me there is no recoil in 9mm.
