Thanks. It looks like it is dovetailed and does not appear to be staked like the front sight. I will check with customer service.SA customer service can tell u best, but I think it can be drifted over. I don’t see how or why they’d pin the rear.
Is your east and west off on why you want/need too move it?Thanks. It looks like it is dovetailed and does not appear to be staked like the front sight. I will check with customer service.
Shots hit left with livefire and when using a laser trainer. Also when i shoot left handed. The sight is off center to the left.Is your east and west off on why you want/need too move it?
If you’re shooting left my question is how many rounds do you have through this gun? Could it be you need more time shooting this gun to get used to how it shoots based on the sights setup as is.Can the rear sight of an SA mil spec 1911 be drifted? It seems to be off to the left a little if lining up the notches on the slide and sight. May explain why my shots hit just the left, maybe? Any thoughts are appreciated.View attachment 23760
A more dramatic way of saying what I said.It could be the way you're shooting it.

Unless you have access to a Ransom Rest you can't tell whether its the pistol or the shooter.

Definitely over 500 rounds. If i line up the front sight closer to the right i can straighten out the loint of impact. It may be i need more time.If you’re shooting left my question is how many rounds do you have through this gun? Just checked my range bag… don’t have one of them. Hahaha. It could be the way you're shooting it.

Most likely the shooter, i guess.A more dramatic way of saying what I said.
You used left handed bullets in a right handed gun . In golf you hooked instead of slicing it, that is if you're right handed. Most likely the shooter, i guess.
I usually leave those bullets next to the left hand mags and lefty screwdrivers. Thanks though! Hahahaha!!!You used left handed bullets in a right handed gun . In golf you hooked instead of slicing it, that is if you're right handed.
with these old eyes, and if the gun is perfectly being held as straight and as upright as can be.....i can see the rear sight slightly to the left. Can the rear sight of an SA mil spec 1911 be drifted? will try that. In person you can tell the sight is left of the center mark no matter which way it is held.with these old eyes, and if the gun is perfectly being held as straight and as upright as can be.....i can see the rear sight slightly to the left.
otherwise, it may also "seem" to appear that the gun is leaning to the right a little bit
you may want to put the gun on a table, no mag inserted and take another picture, of it perfectly level
only from what i am able to see/view, the sight does appear to be to the left a little bit.I’ll have one of the rso’s who is a 1911 fanatic shoot it and see what he thinks.

He could shoot it off a rest. Maybe not as steady as that contraption, but good enough to tell if your sights are off.It could be the way you're shooting it.

…”contraption” Ha !!!He could shoot it off a rest. Maybe not as steady as that contraption, but good enough to tell if your sights are off.
Well, I kinda was making fun of it. I can't see a whole lot of use for it personally. I usually "Zero" an optic off a bench rest just to take as much human error out of it as I can, but even if I eliminated all human error by using a Ransom rest I would still end up fine tuning my optic by shooting off hand.…”contraption” Ha !!!
( sorry, that hit me funny. Reminded me of old man Harris up the road when i was a kid; used to work for him. He badmouthed everything he thought was ‘newfangled’ Lol !
You kinda had to be there, sorry)
