Mod 2 .45 subcompact glich

Members,

I have a Springfield Mod 2 .45 subcompact; it's a great carry weapon but after a few mags fired though it, the slide remains to the rear

with rounds still in the magazine. If anyone has any ideas that may bring me some piece of mind, it would be gratefully appreciated.

Does it happen with all magazines, or just one?

Does it only happen on a certain round (eg, the third round fired)?

Are you certain your grip isn't causing you to unintentionally engage the slide stop when in recoil (not uncommon in a thumbs-forward grip with the XD series)?

Welcome to the forum and thank you for your service sir.

I can't speak to the subcompact, but I have the 4" Mod 2 .45 and it's one of the most accurate and reliable handguns I own. Hopefully you figured out your issue with yours. Let us know how it went.

BassBob,

Thank you for the kind words, sir. I'm pretty sure hand position was the problem, won't be able to verify it until I can get to the range, when I held the pistol, my thumb was way to high on the slide. Again thanks for your feedback. It's a good feeling to know that my Mod 2 is still in the running. Regards, Denis Berte'

I have this firearm and never had the issue you described. My assumption is also that your thumb is putting upward pressure on the slide lock while firing.
