Check out freedomgorilla.comI just purchased a Mod 3 pistol, I'm a bit confused with which optical mounting plate goes with a red dot. so, which red dot is compatible with my gun and how do I know which optical mounting plate to get since they have 4 different options. thanks
I did, but I only saw red dots for the Mod 2 and I'm not sure if everything that can fit a Mod 2 is the same for Mod 3, I am very new to guns so is going to take me a while before I get everything straight! lolCheck out freedomgorilla.com

well, I just got my gun yesterday, and I'm not sure which one to get since there's so much selection out there and don't forget the prices can be a bit high! But I'm definitely looking for something in the mid-range price.Hi,
I recently installed a red dot on my new XD9 Mod.3 (my first optic pistol). I installed a Holosun 507c with an OSP adapter plate from C&H. They make good adapter gear.

What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?
Agree about some sites with certain brand snobs, not just AR related. Well, whatever. If a person's items meet their needs, budget and preferences - who cares? That shows up so often in our society - boasting about my XYZ is sooo much better than yours. Happens with motorcycles, autos...www.thearmorylife.com
^^... is the post showing my stuff, just for reference. Different optics may use different adapter plates.
What red dot are you considering? BTW, C&H has great installation videos. Even a bass player can understand.

And truthfully the 507s are definitely not high end optics.Hi,
True dat. I think I paid as much for my optic as I did for my Mod.3. (I'd been saving up for my first optic rig.) PSA had the 407 on sale for about half what the 507 cost. That'll probably work for you just fine if you're on a budget. I'm always shopping "bang-for-your-buck".Something from Primary Arms can save you some coin. Check out this set of reviews...

I would stay away from Primary Arms pistol red dots, despite what the sages at Pew Pew tactical say. They do not get great ratings. Go Holosun. Prices are reasonable and the quality of their optics is very good. C&H also makes some pretty decent red dots as does Meprolight. The Vortex Defender line is pretty good too.Hi,
