Monday rant and GOOD morning all

well it was morning

PLEASE all the people visiting Texas to enjoy our state..........READ THE POSTED SPEED limits signs and if you cant do it...MOVE the heck over when i flash my lights
if its posted as 70 and you need to do 55....stay home or be polite
we try here to be nice, but 55 in 70 until i can pass then you speed up to 70 is going to earn you a very unpleasant tone from my horn and those bothersome flashing head lights

everyone else enjoy today and realize its the 3rd of march already and april will be here next week

I totally get you. We have left lane hogs that mosy along under the limit in that left lane, no cares in the world. Messes everyone else up.
 
If you ain't a hammer, then stay outta the hammer lane! And in South Texas, the posted limit is just the lowest speed suggestion. Just about everyone does 10 over the posted speed limit, especially on the freeway. I'll be doing 85 and people still pass me like a bullet!

yep... and when we lived in north bama the 70 mph was a suggested MINIMUM...you had best be keeping up with the flow.

I'm right there with you boater. I drive 90k miles each year for work...the battles on the controlled-access highways drive me crazy every day of the week. BTW, the problem is just as bad in WI and IL as it may be in TX. In fact, I'll bet a C-note it's the same EVERYWHERE!
 
Theres one in every crowd, not being renowned as a speed demon. 11pm. end of an 18hr day, facing an hour+ drive home. Window down, music on, corncob puffing like a freight train only car on the road. Think to myself it sure is taking a long time to get down this stretch of road. Look down at the speedo meter and I'm not quite doing a whopping 15mph. I no sooner say to myself :censored: put some effort into pushing the go pedal and the blue lights come on behind me. Turns out it was an officer I used to work with, and she said "oh it's you, pick up the pace will you or you won't get home before you have to turn around and start a new day all over again". Laughing she walked off. State, county, and local police always sent a copy of a speeding ticket to admin. She thought she was cute and reported me. Boy did I catch a load of poo from my fellow officers. Guess I deserved it, I sure shoveled enough when I could.;)
I was always told keep up with traffic, and if you can't get out of the damn way.

I get ya. In MN and ND (maybe a little of SD too), speed limits are merely a suggestion. Every jurisdiction has its limits, but they don't seem to reflect the posted speed limits. Basically, it seems that unless you're really a self-important idiot, you are fine. Just don't tick off the locals ;) :cool:.

I suggest you drive as fast as you can since Idaho will welcome your BIG ticket $$, and you might get lucky to get a free stay in the local accommodations, as well as a snazzy hot pink jumpsuit to wear.

So once you get to the Idaho state line just floor it and ignore the pretty flashing lights.

BTW - Make sure you have an open container of an adult beverage within easy reach, and if a state representative talks to you offer them a drink.
