More California Idiocy: Plastic Bags

Hi,

In 2014 California (Newsom) "banned" single-use plastic bags. While I was there I bought a lot of "recyclable" plastic bags for a dime each. I disposed of them responsibly but most do not. It seems the ban has backfired. The plastic waste has gone up by 30%. What's the new solution? More taxes and fees and regulations.

The LA Times tries to spin it.

It seems the CA government does not think things through.

And that's the most important thing the have to worry about? Don't get me started. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

YUP ME did that 4-5 years ago, to SAVE THE PLANET. Now you see people going into the grocery store the "reuseable" bags that look like a grease monkey's overalls.
I do my part. I collect all the refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners I can get a hold of and every month or so bust em open letting all the freon into the atmosphere, and on "Earth Day" I go the extra step and burn a pile of rubber tires. Bleep you moonbats and your save the planet.

California is usually confusing and confounding to the lucid.
On a somewhat similar note, I'm irked that it's becoming a chore to find trash bags that haven't been saturated with what has been deemed a "fresh scent." All I want is a plain, untreated trash bag.

We still have plastic here in New Mexico. The issue is people just throwing their trash out the window while driving! If you have never been here it's a filthy state! If you need a new couch you could probably find one dumped on the side of the road! Nobody seems to think that this is a problem only guns are a problem.

California has a bad habit of passing laws based on feel good emotions rather than common sense. That's why they so often backfire on them.
Single use plastic bags? Not around here. Most folks I know have a bag of bags somewhere in their house that they use for all kinds of stuff. Need a small trash can liner? Grab a bag. Taking a bunch of small items somewhere? Grab a bag. Having a yard sale? Grab a bunch of bags. They have all kinds of secondary uses. ;)

plastic bags also serve the Mafia well..........all my Mafia friends tell me.

as full body bags, for either a shallow grave burial or dumping into Lake Mead.....

as chopped up body parts bags

as a suffocation device for thier hit

what da hell will the Mafia use now..???

paper bags...?? does anyone know how those damned paper bags rip apart so easily???

how da hell they gonna hold chopped up body parts..????

and for christ sakes, you can't suffocate your victim, all he has to do is rip the stupid bag and BREATHE

damned stupid law makers......

for not taking the Mafia's job into consideration

I can't wait until everything has to be made in metal when plastic ('bad petroleum') is banned. Image the weight of an ev when plastic can't be used.

as it is now, the tires do not last long on an EV, due to the torque of the motors..now add in more weight..??

i suspect one will be buying tires yearly, or sooner, depending on the miles driven.
