my new bore sight gear test

i ordered a new bore sight gear that uses adapters to make a snug fit in the barrel
plus i have 2 308 sight mark lasers that go into battery in the bore

i set up the new hellcat optic to be dead on at 25 feet
then i thought let me check all the rest

my 22 rifle was still on zero at 100 feet according to the laser
my other 308 was savage was still right where i set it zero at 100 feet
my little 22 neos with a red dot was still at zero at 50 feet

but the ar10 308 was a freaking at 50 feet a half inch down in the scope
so removed the barrel end laser and inserted the 308 sight mark round and it to read exactly the same spot
i was WTF ... who dropped the rifle etc...?
any who after a few minute i got it laser set back to zero at 100 feet
then it dawned on me
i had removed and re installed the muzzle brake a few weeks ago to clean everything
i must have tweaked the scope then
i got my 30 bux worth already from the new kit

Get a good ballistics table and then zero at 25 yards for whatever range you want to be “dead on”. Always did that when doing serious varmint hunting. If memory serves 1/2” low ar 25 put a .222 “dead on” at 250, and a Swift at 25 was like 5/8” low for dead on at 400. (Talking from memory here, but I know I’m close). A LOT easier than actually zeroing AT 250 Remember bullets travel in an arc.
