Sweet looking rifle. Is that a synthetic stock or painted wood? I like the color.
It’s a synthetic stock. Monte Carlo/McMillian style. It has a tackiness to it, kinda sticky. I like it you can really get a hold onto it. The Barrel(s) was the main reasoning behind my choice followed by several recommendations. Ed Shilen had a hand in the start up with Bergara. Shilen makes some excellent barrels.

Nice long range Rifle .300 Win magnum I have a 700 Remington Heavy barrel in that caliber.
Yeah I looked at that and for my application, it wouldn’t be a good choice. My Remington 700 SPS 308, a shooter. I was wanting something more along the lines of an “out west” gun. This rifle has a #4.5 contour. That’s perfect for what I’m using it for.

I have that same model in 6.5 Creedmoor.

My main go-to-rifle for most of my big game hunting.

My 7OO is heavy with a 24" Barrel. What optic are you putting on it?

BangBang, I'm going to make a WAG and say that the lowest shot of both groups was the first shot of that group ..... would I be correct? If so take note that the bbl is rising with heat from follow up shots. Might be an opportunity to review the bbl bedding in the stock. If I'm wrong, don't pay any attention to my dumb azz comments. LOL!

And don't misinterpret my comments, both groups are very respectable, especially right out of the box. But if I'm right in that 1st WAG, it's not likely to get better with time..... unless the bbl had a lot of oil in the bore.

My second WAG would be that you made sure there was no unacceptable amount of oil in the bbl.

regards,
jumpinjoe

Another group with the Barnes 165 and some Winchester PowerMax which if I hunt with this rifle at one of my spots I’ll use this load. There may be an article or a guru out there that has more knowledge on the subject than myself, but I have always been on the side of barrels breaking in or settling and I feel like this one is starting to.
