My Wife bought me a Pistol

So my wife surprised me with a pistol last week. A Taurus TH9C. She didn't have much money on her, and it was really sweet of her. But I was surprised because this thing shoots really well, and feels very comfortable in my hand. I have heard mixed reviews on Taurus, but I found this to be reliable and accurate. It came with a 13 round and 17 round magazine. The only issue I had was that the "decocker" was very aggressive, it slams the hammer, but it doesn't strike the firing pin...it scared me at first but other than that it worked much better than expected. It was very dry when I got it so I had to clean lube it. I have put around 550 rounds through it so far.

I think I like Taurus the way some people like Hi-Point. I have a TH9c and really like it. I would like it more if I could put a red dot on it without taking out the rear sight for it. Good shooter, accurate, has been reliable. Easy to shoot.

I think Taurus QA/QC has improved quite a bit over the past few years. A lot of negativity is likely based on experiences several years ago. Your wife obviously really cares about you and wants to be sure you are well protected!

I'll also add that a pile of people just can't tolerate the fact that a $300 what not, will do what their $1200 whatever, will do. Admittedly not as refined, classy or prestigious, so they, ah, um, well, exaggerate every little issue they have ever heard of.

Taurus is not the same company as 10 or more years ago. They make some nice guns. I have a GX4 in my carry rotation. I have over 5000 rounds on it and has been 100% reliable. I have even used it in IDPA comps.
