My wish list for the next in the Hellcat series

I like to get as much practice in as I can but the rising cost of ammo makes that a little tough on a retiree's income. When the FN502 was announced, I thought "Great - Get an FN509 and an FN502 for practice." When I went to the NRA show in Houston, I was disappointed to see that the guns were different enough in size and shape that they would not fit in the same holster and they felt different in the hand.

Now, wouldn't it be cool if Springfield could come out with a Hellcat OSP in .22 that was the same size, shape and weight as the 9mm? You could burn up the track practicing your gun handling skills on a budget then use your EDC to master just your recoil skills with the more expensive ammo. Do you folks thing this idea has any merit?

Import issues raise their head.

Remember—the Hellcat is made in Croatia, and is subject to GCA68 rules.

I’ll add:

There’s enough difference between the two calibers that, honestly…having something identical really won’t help much.

Do look for a .22 that matched your setup—if you run a MRDS on your carry piece, it just makes sense to have it on your .22, for example—but they don’t have to exactly the same.

I agree with the idea.
I shot a Glock 44 and I think it's a great training tool for regular Glocks. Thinking about getting one as my duty weapon is a G45

Sorry but for me I'm ready to take a pause on the Hellcat line. Like the 365's when you get one 6mo's later here comes a new model. I feel like I'm in the phone / smart tv market. I periodically practice with a S&W victory and I find it really helps with my trigger control and my accuracy improves across my guns.

Maybe you can go into more detail because as I read the GCA, 50 cal and under are importable. a .22 LR should qualify.

Not enough points.

Could always just do a slide, barrel, magazine kit in 22 like advantage arms. I have asked advantage but I can not get a response.

Get a TX-22.

Reasonably priced, accurate, higher mag capacity than the typical 10 rds, and a fuller-sized pistol.

I wish there was a FDE Hellcat Pro. I'm expecting its release the day after the 'Gear Up' promotion ends (Sept,1).

A 30SC Hellcat would be cool.

Carried my Hellcat Pro in a Kydex holster, AIWB, for about half the day yesterday. After doing a bit of driving, I have a thought.
They should make a Hellcat Pro X, along the lines of a Glock 19X or G45, or what Tarus just did with the G3

have the full-size grip of the Pro, but instead of the 3.7 inch barrel, have the 3 inch

You could have that with the Hellcat, and an extended magazine. I think they got it right with the 15 rd magazine, and the 3.7” barrel.
Fair enough. I really don't like using an extended mag to get a longer grip, as you get that gap where the mag meet the grip, but it does give you the same effect
