It’s an S&W; probably a K-frame.

Adjustable sights, so…if it’s a .38, it’s a Model 14 (K-38 Target Masterpiece). If .357, it’s a Model 19.

If it’s an N, there’s several options, depending on caliber.

It's a Smith K-22, Model 17, 8 3/8" barrel, .22LR, standard hammer, standard trigger, Mustang grips.

Or it COULD be a Model 48 in .22 Magnum. No way to tell from here.

Looking again, it might be some foreign copy of same. The finish doesn't look up to S&W standards, unless it's been refinished.

S&W Model 48-4 22WRM it is! Good work Snake! Another gun of my ol'mans past on to me after he past years ago. I do believe it has been refinished as I recall. We live in a pretty harsh coastal environment here on Kodiak so my dad had it Parkerized because the blueing wasn't holding up If I remember right. It's a fun, accurate and affordable pistol to fire too!

Long ago, when I only had 3 pistols-
Snap- Ruger LCP (like snap your finger off but I digress)
Crackle- XD Subcompact Mod 2
Pop- XDM 4.5" 40

But most of the oldtimers here already knew that.
