New 1911

Since my bolt on my carcano is cracked, my girlfriend said she's okay with me getting a new gun.. I'm gonna try this 1911 import from Turkey. I wanted 7 round capacity but 8+1 is good too. Seems to be REALLY close mechanically to the original. Gonna tune it a bit I think and definitely gonna swap the hand grips.

If you want 7rd capacity, buy some 7rd gov’t model mags.

Problem solved.

Nice pick. Tisas have a stainless Commander that is on my “any time now” list.
Simon, is it the Carry model ? I have it in .45…. (not sure if it’s offered in 9mm).
Excellent satin finish all over. I changed grips to slim VZs, and did my first new barrel install (put in an Ed Brown so-called drop in barrel).
Only issue - the ambi thumb safety is somewhat ‘mushy’ for lack of a better word. I’d like to replace with a single left side that clicks into place.
Also MSH seems to be made of plastic.
But it’s a good shooter - about on a level with RIA.

TW, that is the one I’ve been looking at. I’ve already got a Kimber Pro Carry II, but I have a bit of the magpie in me and like shiny things! Thanks for the feedback on it. I figure for $500 and change it’s worth a try.
