As mentioned in another thread I picked up my second Elite pistol, a compact 45ACP currently only available to me is the short magazine’s, I have 2 extended magazines on order from Springfield.
After installing the Holosun 507C X2 and removing the magwell and setting up the magazines with the smaller pads I was off to the range to sight in the red dot.
I only had one issue with the first magazine where the last round in the mag slide forward and the slide locked back thinking the mag was empty.
This happened only once, aside from that the gun performed flawlessly.
I learned a long time ago that with every new gun I buy and shoot for the first time my rounds are always low left until I get used to the characteristics of how the gun shoots and today was no different so I wasn’t concerned about shot placement for the first few rounds.
Unfortunately the compactness of the grip doesn’t allow me to get a complete full hand grip.
For me not having the pinky finger up on the grip is just not enough.
After shooting from a bench rest position and adjusting the red dot I got what I was hoping for.
The 3 in the ten ring was the last 3 of the day.
Today’s ammunition was Federal 230 grain FMJ Hornady and Federal Hollow points. This new Elite Compact 3.8 45ACP ate everything I put through it as all of my Springfield handguns have.
I’ll be updating this report when I get the extended magazines.
