I always wanted a Sig 229 and I got this Elite model at a great price. Only other Sig offering I have is it's big brother a 226 Legion.

I went to the range Saturday and put another 100 rounds through my P226 Legion DA-SA for a total of 550 without any stoppages. I like the weight and balance of the 226 along with the longer grip and barrel length.

There isn't much that beats a P229, imo. One of the most solid and reliable compact handguns ever made, and they are still a great option today. I've handled many pistols, and there is just something about picking up a P229/6 and feeling it in the hand that I haven't felt with many others. In fact, when I think about reliability issues I've had with other options, I don't know why I ever stray. I can't remember the last time I had an issue with any of my classic P-series Sigs.

I recently found one of my 'grail' P229s - the Classic Carry model.

The new "Elite" model (as opposed to the prior "Enhanced Elite") now has the Legion frame with the bobbed beavertail, which I much prefer to the full beavertail of the previous model, along with the nice Legion undercut.

The X-series grips from SIG are my favorite of any manufacturer. They fit my XL hands perfectly.

Congratulations! It is a fine pistol. I carried an M-11/P228 for duty for years. In my view it is a perfect size for concealed carry, although my current EDC is a P220 Legion SAO, because I like big fat bullets.
