I know it is to cut production costs, but it would be great if they stopped using plastic parts. I'm also referring to handguns as well. The last 3 I've bought I've had to replace the plastic guide rods with metal. 1 broke after just 200rnds.
 
The new 18" and 20" models have a redesigned AR-15-like selector so I guess there was a big enough need for an improvement.

So, the Manticore product is the only option for the 16" owners. Besides, it costs $$ to design and make a product for a limited market, as Manticore does for other platforms.
 
Yeah talked to Springfield today about if they will sell their updated selector switch to those of us who bought the 16" variant and unfortunately that's a no.
